Many people like to display their paintings without frames, but occasionally a frame is preferred, particularly on standard depth (18 to 21mm) canvases. I do not hold stocks of frames but can usually acquire those shown in the images below. There will be a delay in the delivery time of your painting, since it can take 5 to 7 working days for me to order and receive the frame parts from my supplier.
Once received, I then normally need a further 2 to 3 days to frame your picture and package it securely ready for despatch.
Shown below are frame styles suitable for both box and standard depth canvases. They are all wood (no plastic!).
FRAME A
A very nice sloping-edged frame that is suitable for standard-depth canvases. The canvas is laid into the frame from the front, like a tray, giving a flush-edge finish. The wood is a plain natural type and can be stained or painted if the buyer wishes; although the natural wood colour suits many contemporary works very well. Example of pricing: to frame a standard depth canvas measuring 24" x 20" would be £25
FRAME B
same as Frame A, but with a deeper tray to accommodate deep box canvases up to 46mm depth.
FRAME C
This frame is a slim style but able to accommodate standard-depth canvases. It provides a "box" effect when seen from the side, allowing it to be hung flush against a wall without the back of the canvas "sticking out". This colour is white.
The same frame as "C" above but in a brown colour.
FRAME D
A specially cut tray frame that allows a canvas to be dropped in from the front and create a "floating-in-frame" effect, due to the inner stepped section. This frame comes in two versions; Type A is for box canvases up to 41mm; and type B is suitable for standard depth canvases up to 28mm. It also comes in three colours; black, white and obeche (similar to a medium-gold pine colour).
At the moment I am only charging for the framing at cost. I do not stain or paint the frames, they are left in a natural state. I had considered doing these tasks, but felt that I already have sufficient to do!
